Where the story began
When the peninsula website was stabilised after the re-launch, our team started to look at how to improve the web experience by improving the user experience. The challenges at that time was that the UX part was ignored during the re-launch design. And there was no handover from the previous design team so we had no idea how the refreshed UI was designed based on what assumption and rationale.
Approach
I have completed the website audit with the help from a talented UI designer from my team.
The audit approach is based on three main pillars with workshops with client:
Web Data - to understand what user actually do in the website
Content and Component - to examine the information architecture and jobs to be done
Visual - to examine if the visual hierarchy are clearly presenting the content
Workshops - to understand the business objectives and brand requirements
At last, a competitor analysis is also conducted to learn from other best-in-class websites.
Assumptions based on the research and audit
Current Web Structure Review
Result

A couple of wireframes are created to tackle the difficulties identified.
